Barb's Care A Lot began operations on January 27, 1992 at 5163 Buffalo Road. In November 1999, a new facility was built on Barb's 100 Acre Farm at 3880 Davison Road. In October 2009 all operations moved to the Davison Road location to downsize and consolidate into one center.
Here at Barb's Care A Lot the staff implements the Creative Curriculum to assist them in providing the children with developmentally appropriate lessons. This means the children are able to learn and practice newly acquired skills that offer challenges just beyond the level of their present mastery. The children are also are in a safe and valued community where their physical needs are met and where they feel psychologically safe.
Barb's Care A Lot is a NAEYC accredited facility and is one of only two 4 STAR accredited facilities in the area. The Pennsylvania Early Learning Keys to Quality, sponsored by the Department of Public Welfare’s Office of Child Development and Early Learning, is a quality improvement program in which all early learning programs and practitioners are encouraged and supported to improve child outcomes.
